Exam time

This week, the exams will begin in the University.

It is a pity that it has not worked with the world cup place in Spain, but now I will have to prepare intensely for the exams in the next two weeks.

Here are some photos from the Worldranking-Race in L´Argentiere.

Videos from the selection races in Markkleeberg and Augsburg

Position 5, 6 and 7 at the selection races

After the first three competitions with the places 5, 6 and 7 in the A finale, I come away empty-handed in the U23- Category.

Also with very steady and good results it´s not enough for the German Canoe Federation to make the U23 national team.

The trainer's council is speaking from in the long term good  development possibilities for young paddlers and proves the opposite with me!

Besides, U23 paddlers like me are also deserted for the whole competition season!

After the first 3 competitions I was laying on the overall position 5 and can only look forward for the German Championship.

In my opinion, long-term sports developments for young paddlers must be formed very much better! The qualification runs in Leipzig and Augsburg was not a loss for me! I didn´t crazed myself or get nervously but rather was looking for the selection races!

Top priority will be the the University in business informatics with 10 exams and some practical training to the end of July but the hard training will be still the same!

Qualification to the European- and World Championship

The selection run´s for the German-National-Team will start in Markkleeberg tomorrow. The final run´s will be in Augsburg next week.

Here are some pictures from the Snowkajak World Championship in Lienz (AUT).

I won the first and second run and retired in the quarterfinal.

New Galasport boat and a completely red paddle

This year Galasport developed a new slalom kayak, the Echo which is the next development of the Toro Evo! The new Echo is simply brilliant, with the intensified volume in the tail, the Echo is turning almost by itself! Moreover you have a better feeling with the new narrow seat in addition to the perfectly adapted thigh braces! I tested the new boat together with Alex Grimm and we are very surprised by the new Echo!

I´m also paddling with the new Galasport paddle, the Naja Maxi DTB MCQ, which is as well an absolutely innovation from Galasport! This paddle is not only lightly also very tough! The change from a straight shaft to an ergo-shaft was very simple and makes a lot of fun!

Manuela und Andreas Stahl gave me not a normal paddle, they brought me a completely red paddle, which made me very happy!

The team of Kanu-Sport-Stahl is paddling with painted paddles and also Melanie Pfeifer is certainly happy about her pink paddle!

Thanks a lot to Kanu-Sport-Stahl!
02.02.2010 Semester break

In the last 3 weeks I had to reduce the training most intensive, because of many examinations! Now, the exam period is finally over and I´m looking forward to train a lot! Together with the Bavarian-Canoe-Federation we will go to Solkan (SLO) for training next week.

Women´s football Germany - USA

Yesterday, I were in the brand-new "Impuls Arena" in Augsburg for watching the women´s football Germany against the USA. It was a nice experience, because the stadium was completely sold out! Although Germany lost the match, this was still a good advertisement for the upcoming women´s Worldchamps in Augsburg 2011!

21.09.2009 German Champion in Hohenlimburg

Yesterday I was able to win the German Championship together with Fabian Dörfler and Lukas Kalkbrenner in Hohenlimburg!
Unfortunately the second place at the German Cup was finally the end result this year!

Nevertheless I can be very happy about my sixth title at the German Championships and even the fourth place in the individual was a great success!

The German Championship was the last race in a very successful competition season 2009!

ICF World Ranking Race in Solkan (SLO)

After the eight place in the international competition in Markkleeberg, we will travell to the Slovenian World Ranking Race. At the moment there is a big high water level in Slovenia, therefore we decided to do a short training in Lofer (AUT) and drive on to Solkan.
Even at high water the Hit Challenge should take place.

There are altogether 15 other paddlers and also 6 coaches from the german team.

I look forward to training at higher temperatures and especially to visit a multicultural and extremely interesting country in Africa!

Shoulder dislocation in the canoe slalom

Ole Siegismund from the University of Magdeburg conducted some measurements from my shoulder last week.

Ole fixed my entire right arm with numerous electrodes and also did some force measurements from my shoulder. I also had to do a test in my boat, when he unexpectedly tipped me on the side with full tilt to check out the max power of my shoulder! I´m glad that my shoulder is still all right after all this hard tests and I hope Ole will evaluate his measurements easily.

The aim was to see, which forces are exposed on my shoulder in the canoe slalom and how to prevent shoulder dislocation in  sports.

  New boat

Last week I got the new Toro Evolution from Galasport for the training- and competition season 2009.

My new boat is fast and especially in upstream-gates it comes off very well, so that it is easily to drive.

All in all it looks brilliant and makes me happy!

Thank´s a lot to
Kanu-Sport-Stahl!

08.11.2008 Sports instructor training in Sonthofen

At the moment I do a sports instructor training from the German Sports Army in Sonthofen.
It´s an excellent conditional training and together with Jan Benzien also very amusingly. Six hour sport and about two hour theory are on the plan every day.
We do a lot of jogging, swimming, cycling, rock climbing, mountaineering, weight training,...
It´s a nice time and I will become a sports instructor in four weeks.
13.10.2008 Vietnam was a great experience

Vietnam is a wonderful country, with marvellous landscapes, beautiful beaches, fantastic mountainous regions, buoyant people, incredible roads traffic and a lot more!

But Vietnam has also another side.

Completely destroyed and overcrowded roads, now and than streets are punctuated with brown mud and red brickearth, which makes
many main roads impassable.

Many children have no or rather just a little school education and as a result bad future prospects. Farmers work very hard, air their homegrown vegetables and rice on the roadside and live in serried ranks of  shabby little huts. You can see many water buffaloes lying in the rice fields and white ducks are flying across the sky and you feel to see snowflakes aboveground. I saw economically weaker regions with hopeless poorness, where people have no laughing matter!

It was my year-loang wish to travel 4000 Km trough Vietnam! I am glad that I could do it with my old class mate!

Here are some photos from Vietnam
